UNLEARNING PAIN THROUGH RELAXATION

It has taken me a good few years to finally narrow down what I do best and who I help and the answer is. I help people who are suffering from chronic pain, who want to move better on a daily basis, those who are recovering from injury of illness and those who want to unlearn pain through relaxation.

Way you can work with me include;

Bowen Therapy - Bowen is a type of therapy that acts on the autonomic nervous system. It is said to inhibit the sympathetic nervous system (your fight-or-flight response) and activate the parasympathetic nervous system (your rest-and-digest response). Allowing the client to real and allow for healing to take pace.

Pilates - Pilates is perfect for chronic pain sufferers because it increases muscle strength through low impact and controlled floor based exercises which can be adapted to suit your ability and needs. The variation of Pilates exercise keeps it an interesting and enjoyable way of managing or reducing your pain. Pilates also works by helping the brain to concentrate on using the body as a whole and stops the brain from focusing on painful areas.

Yoga - The culturing of the body and mind that happens through regular yoga inputs brings about an equanimity of perception, which makes conventional inputs including analgesics more effective in controlling the distress of chronic pain.

Yoga Nidra - Practices like meditation and yoga nidra can help calm your sympathetic nervous system and allow the parasympathetic nervous system to take charge. The parasympathetic nervous system controls your body when it's in neutral and works to conserve and restore energy.

If you would like to speak to me about the above please get in touch, I have options of 1-1 sessions, small group classes or larger group classes with a fantastic friendly and supportive atmosphere.
